OUR SERVICES
Our program includes academic tutoring sessions, one on one peer sessions, and group sessions.
Academic Mentoring
Students don't always fail at academics because they lack the intelligence to grasp a subject. They sometimes don't have a safe space to complete school work, they have a teacher who doesn't have the time or energy to give them assistance, or they are afraid to ask for help.

Ms. Straughter's Mentees program offers our Mentees an environment that encourages them to ask for our help when they need it and a space as free of violence or bullying as we can create so students start to feel confident about their academic abilities.
One on One Mentor Sessions
Sometimes, I just want someone to listen to me. Sometimes, I just want to talk about how I think I can handle a problem. Sometimes, I have something on my mind and I just don't feel comfortable discussing it in a group setting. Sometimes, I just want support!

We've heard these things from our youth, who wind up feeling as if they have the least amount of control over their lives, over and over.

One on one Mentor sessions allow our participants the opportunity to have a one on one discussion with one our Mentors where they can discuss anything they want.
Group Peer Sessions
Where our one on one sessions are guided by the Mentee, our group peer sessions are managed by one or more of our Mentors.

First, we choose a topic of discussion. The topics can range from how to approach a job interview to current events. Then, we try to reinforce any skills or insights gained from the session by choosing an event or skill-builder activity.
